Blue Powder Monkeys

Welcome to our website.

That was the placeholder text when we built this site, so we left it. Like some sort of genetic marker to the past. Building websites suck. Designing them can be fun, but the nuts and bolts of css, html, javascript, fuck all that.

On top of it, companies like to hire unicorns; I’m sure your industry has them, too.

In graphic design, it’s someone that can design and code. Now, hold on, there’s a side thing with graphic designers and illustrators that they all think they can do illustration or graphic design, too. But that’s self-inflicted. It’s like people thinking because they have access to Word and self-publishing, they can write.

They can’t. Mostly. The writers, the design unicorns, whatever the stand in is in your universe. We all claim we can multitask. We can’t. Mostly.

Now, hold on, lots of us do both. Of the things. Or more. All of the things.

Try, anyway.

We’re (generally) better at one thing over the over. The better we are at one, honestly, the worst we are at the other. Because practice is time spent.

Then, by the laws of nature, mediocre lives in the middle.

Hey, and you know what? We’re okay with that. Do you know why? Because we have two general life philosophies we live by. Mostly. Mostly two, and mostly live by. You wanna know what they are?

Don’t shit where you eat, and don’t take away another someone else’s joy.

There’s always exceptions to rules, of course. If someone else’s joy is hurting other people, then, yeah, we gotta take away their joy. But if you’re joy is designing websites, then coding them into action, go for it, we won’t stop you.

Instead, we’ll struggle through all the tutorials to try and make a word press thingy work. Cause life is to short to AI some css or whatever you kids do now days.

The links are pretty easy, go check out our short films, go check out our graphic design. Read some rants, watch some essays, basically we do everything okay, and nothing spectacularly. Mostly. Sometimes we get lucky and excel. Hope you’re around for that.
